Scholarships

Academic scholarships may be available for those who qualify. The High School Scholarship Program (HSSP) normally awards three- or four-year scholarships which consists of tuition, textbooks, required fees, and a $250–$400-per-month, tax-free stipend. The amount received per scholarship will vary by type. For more information please go to: .

Applications are accepted starting the senior year in high school. Application forms are available online at . Four-year scholarship applications are due by December 1 of the student’s senior year in high school, with follow-up paperwork due by January 11.

Most scholarships are awarded to those majoring in engineering or scientific disciplines and foreign languages. Awarding of one of the scholarships noted above carries with it the mutual expectation that the cadet may perform duties relating to his or her major once on active duty; e.g., engineering majors normally work as engineers.

Scholarships may also be available for students through the In-College Scholarship Program (ICSP). To compete for one of these, you must be a member of the AFROTC program for a minimum of one semester. Your competitiveness will be based on GPA, physical fitness score, detachment commander ranking, standardized academic tests, and medical qualification. Nominees compete nationwide with other AFROTC cadets, contingent on scholarship availability.
