Dr. Candace King is an Emmy Award winning journalist and scholar of African American Studies, Women's Studies, and Surveillance Studies. Dr. King has over a decade of communications training and experience, assuming sole responsibility of producing original news content on deadline for both broadcast and digital-first platforms including N糖心vlog直播平台 News, N糖心vlog直播平台BLK, ESSENCE Magazine and The Nation. Dr. King specializes in media representations of Black women, with emphasis on Black women鈥檚 varied responses to state surveillance.
Dr. King鈥檚 research has been featured in conferences around the world including The Netherlands, Nigeria, and South Africa. Dr. King is a media contributor of Her Network, a global inspirational and lifestyle platform for women founded by Nkem Onwudiwe, where she has 路led and facilitated conversations with African businesswomen traversing topics on beauty, business, and music. Currently, she teaches two courses which she has developed for Boston College that explore race, gender, and violence.
