MUSP1842: Boston College Piano Ensemble
Linda Papatopoli enjoys a career as performer, director and teacher. She has given solo and collaborative concerts in the United States and abroad, including performing at Carnegie Recital Hall, Tokyo Opera House, the Venice Music Festival, and the Boston Opera House. She has performed concertos with the Brookline (MA) Symphony and the Northeast Pennsylvania Symphony, and is the recipient of numerous awards including first-place in the NEPA Piano Competition and participation in the Cleveland International Young Artists Competition.
Ms. Papatopoli received a Bachelor of Science in Music Education cum laude聽 from Wilkes University, a Masters in Performance with honors from the Boston Conservatory, and a Certificate in Piano Performance from the Mozarteum in Austria. Post-graduate studies include early music interpretation with Daniel Pinkham, master classes with Carlo Zecchi, and advanced piano technique and repertoire with Ann Karnofsky, student of Rossina Lhevinne.聽聽
Ms. Papatopoli finds artistic inspiration in the relationship between the arts, the humanities, and culture. She is founder and director of the聽Boston Arts Consort, a聽performance ensemble presenting multi-faceted programs combining music, literature, dance, and art, with an emphasis on Spanish classical music and culture. The Consort has been featured in the Boston Globe and Voyager Magazine, and performs regularly in the Boston area as well as collaborating with artists abroad.聽
A dedicated and patient teacher, Ms. Papatopoli believes in the innate ability of every student to succeed, and has given workshops on practice techniques, sight-reading, and classical improvisation.聽At Boston College, she teaches piano and directs the Boston College Piano Ensemble, and arranges field trips to concerts and lectures with her students.
