Student Grants
The Center awarded six travel and research grants to students who traveled to the Dominican Republic; Beirut, Lebanon; Tamil Nadu, India; Bolivia; Prague, Czech Republic; and Paris, France for work related to leadership and ethics in public health, environmental advocacy, language exchange, education, and social enterprise initiatives.
Eleven internship grants were awarded to students who had unpaid summer internships at: the White House, supporting the work of the administration鈥檚 foreign and domestic economic plans; a non-government organization in Cape Town, South Africa, working on public health initiatives in vulnerable communities; the legal and compliance department at a non-profit that provides health care programs for communities affected by natural disasters and poverty; the Sexual Assault/Special Victims Unit of the Massachusetts District Attorney鈥檚 Office; a U.S. State Department program focused on cross-cultural exchange and public diplomacy; a research lab that studies epilepsy in pediatric patients; the Massachusetts governor鈥檚 office for public service work; the marketing and public affairs departments of a non-profit that supports education policy and the arts in Buenos Aires, Argentina; a clinic that seeks to find alternative therapies and treatment for cancer in rural communities in India; a social enterprise organization that connects companies with social sector projects like sanitation and hygiene in India; and a human rights organization that focuses on sexual violence in conflict zones.
